On
October 31, Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington was
killed by near beheading. We know this date from the
cake at his Deathday party in CoS and this is the date on which all other
dates are based.
1926,
Lord Voldemort, He Who Must Not Be Named, was born. His mother lived just
long enough to name him Tom Marvolo Riddle after his muggle father.
- Tom Riddle opened the Chamber of Secrets, releasing the Basilisk.
- Moaning Myrtle was killed by the Basilisk.
- Rubeus Hagrid was expelled from Hogwarts, framed by Tom Riddle, as the person who let loose a "monster" on the students of Hogwarts.
- Aragog, a very large spider, was thought to be the monster that was attacking students. Hagrid helped Aragog escape to the Forbidden Forest.
- Tom Riddle "recorded" his 16 year-old self into a diary.
- Tom Riddle Sr. was discovered dead along with his father and mother.
- Lord Voldemort became a leader of "Dark" Wizards called Death Eaters
- The Whomping Willow was planted at the entrance of a tunnel on the grounds of Hogwarts that leads to the "Shreiking Shack" in Hogsmead.
- Harry's father, James Potter, attended Hogwarts with his friends Remus Lupin, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew.
- Severus Snape was tricked, by Black, into investigating the tunnel under the Whomping Willow which lead to his discovery that Lupin was a werewolf. He was saved by James Potter.
- James Potter, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew learn to become Animagi transforming into a stag, a black dog and a rat, respectively.
- James Potter marries Lilly Evans with Sirius Black as his Best Man.
- Lily Potter gives birth to a son, Harry James Potter.
- Sirius Black is named Harry's Godfather.
- Peter Pettigrew betrays James and Lily's trust by giving Lord Voldemort the location of their hiding place.
- Lord Voldemort murders James and Lily Potter.
- Lord Voldemort attempts to murder Harry Potter but the Avada Kadava curse he uses on the toddler backfires and destroys his body. He goes into hiding.
- Harry is recused from his parents house by Rubeus Hagrid and delivered to Professors Dumbledore and McGonagall at Lily's sister's house.
- Harry is left on the Dursley's doorstep with a note from Professor Dumblefore.
- Sirius Black chases down his former friend, Peter Pettigrew who frames him by killing 13 muggles and then transforming himself into his rat form. It is assumed that Black killed Pettigrew and exposed the Potter's because Pettigrew leaves behind a finger to "prove" his death.
- Sirius Black is taken to Azkaban, the wizarding prison.
- Frank Longbottom and his wife are attacked by Barty Crouch Jr., the LeStranges and another Deatheater with use of the Cruciatus Curse. They are driven insane and taken to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.
- Cornelius Fudge becomes Minister of Magic.

Harry's First Year
- Harry Potter learns he is a wizard from Rubeus Hagrid on his 11th Birthday. He recieves his letter from Hogwarts inviting him to become a student.
- Hagrid takes Harry to the Leaky Caldron where he meets Professor Quirrell and other wizards.
- Harry and Hagrid go to Diagon Alley to shop for Harry's school supplies. They visit Gringott's the wizarding bank and Harry discovers his is rich.
- On Halloween, Harry and Ron save Hermione from a Mountain Troll in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom.
- Harry recieves his father's Invisibilty Cloak as a Christmas gift from Albus Dumbledore.
- Harry and Draco Malfoy come across Lord Voldemort drinking unicorn blood while doing a detention in the Forbidden Forest.
- Harry finds and saves the Sorceror's Stone from Professor Quirell who is acting as a host for Lord Voldemort. Harry kills Prof. Quirell and Voldemort flees leaving Quirell to die.
Harry's Second Year
- Harry meets Dobby the House Elf in his bedroom while trying to hide from the Dursley's company.
- Dobby tries to convince Harry not to return to Hogwarts but Harry refuses so Dobby *pops* downstairs and uses magic to drop a pudding on the Dursley's company.
- Harry is given a warning by the Ministry of Magic for Dobby's use of magic.
- Fred, George and Ron Weasley fly to the Dursley's in their father's enchanted Ford Anglia to pick-up Harry and bring him to their home, The Burrow.
- The Weasley's and Harry use Floo Powder to travel to Diagon Alley to do their back to school shopping. Harry gets lost because he doesn't pronounce "Diagon Alley" clearly and end up on Knockturn Alley, an area where items of the Dark Arts are sold. Hagrid finds him and delivers him to Hermione and the Weasley's.
- The group meets up with Lucius and Draco Malfoy in "Flourish and Blotts"(a bookstore) While he harrassed the children Lucius drops Tom Riddle's diary into Ginny's pile of books.
- Gilderoy Lockhart becomes the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.
- Harry begins to hear the voice of the Basilisk in the walls.
- Harry, Ron and Hermione attend Nearly Headless Nick's Deathday Party.
- Harry hears the voice in the walls again and decided to chase it. Ron and Hermione follow him and they discover Mrs. Norris petrified hanging on the wall outside the girls bathroom.
- Colin Creavey a first year Gryffindor is petrified by the Basilisk.
- Justin Finch-Fletchery and Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington are petrified by the Basilisk, earlier the same day Harry and the school learn he is a Parselmouth, can speak to snakes.
- Ginny Weasley tries to dispose of Tom Riddle's diary by flushing it down Moaning Myrtle's toilet.
- Harry finds Tom Riddle's diary in MM's bathroom.
- Ginny trashes Harry's room while stealing Tom's diary.
- Hermione is petrified after finding out the attacks were by the basalisk.
- Hagrid is arrested again and sent to Azkaban by Dumbledore, Fudge and Lucius Malfoy for the attacks.
- Dumbledore is suspended by the MoM
- Harry and Ron discover Aragog living in the Forbidden Forest, who proves that Hagrid is innocent.
- Ginny Weasley under the control of Tom Riddle through his diary goes into the Chamber of Secrets. Riddle intends to kill her and strengthen himself.
- Harry, Ron and Prof. Lockhart discover the entrance to the CoS with the help of MM.
- Ginny is rescued by Harry after he stabbes the diary with the Basalisk's fang.
- While down there Prof. Lockhart tries to do an obliviate spell on Harry and Ron so he can take credit for the rescue of Ginny by using Ron's broken wand and it backfires.
- Madam Pomfrey revives all of the petrified "people" using a potion made from madrake.
- Harry tricks Lucius Malfoy into giving Dobby his freedom by tossing him his dirty sock. Lucius is disgusted and tosses it to Dobby, thereby granting him freedom.
- Hagrid returns to Hogwarts.
- Lucius Malfoy is fired from the Hogwarts board of governors.
Harry's Third Year
- The Weasley family wins the Daily Prophet Grand Prize Galleon Draw of 700 Galleons and goes to Egypt to visit Bill.
- Fudge while on a routine visit to Azkaban, mockingly gives Sirius Black a copy of the Daily Prophet with the Weasley's on the front page where he sees Scabers, Ron's rat.
- Sirius Black escapes from Azkaban
- Prof. McGonagall give Hermione Time Turner so she can handle her extra load of classes.
- Prof. Lupin is hired as DADA teacher.
- While on the Hogwarts express, Dementors inspecting the compartments come across the trio and Prof. Lupin. Harry faints but Lupin runs them off.
- Malfoy is "attacked" by Buckbeak.
- Fred and George Weasley give Harry "The Marauder's Map" when they discover he will not be allowed to visit Hogsmeade with all the other students.
- While in The Three Broomsticks, with Ron and Hermione over hear Fudge discussing Black and his betrayal of Harry's parents.
- Harry recieves a Firebolt from Black, via Crookshanks.
- Prof. Lupin teaches Harry the Expecto Patronum spell to ward off Dementors.
- Buckbeak is sentenced to death by the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures.
- Prof. Trelawney prophesizes that Voldemort will return to power with the help of his "servant"
- Sirius as Padfoot the dog drags Ron to the Shreiking Shack with Harry following. There they meet up with Lupin and hear what really happened the night of Harry's parent's deaths. Snape discovers them all and brings Sirius in to Dumbledore, who is forced to contact the Ministry.
- Prof. Dumbledore hint's to Hermione that she and Harry can save Sirius and Buckbeak by using the TimeTurner.
- Prof. Lupin returns Harry's map and invisibility cloak before end of term and leaves Hogwarts.
- Black give Ron an owl Pigwidgeon to replace Scabers/Peter.
Harry's Fourth Year
- Percy Weasley begins working for the MoM, under Barty Crouch.
- Voldemort and Pettigrew arrive at the Riddle House with his snake Nagini during their stay he kills Frank Bryce.
- Harry attends the Quidditch World Cup with the Weasleys and Hermione.
- Harry loses his wand while hiding in the woods from a crazed crowd of Deatheaters who are tormenting the muggles who run the campground they are staying at for the World Cup.
- Barty Crouch Jr. finds the wand and send up the "Dark Mark" into the sky over the forest.
- Back at school Prof. Dumbledore announces the Triwizard Tournament will be held at Hogwarts this year.
- Harry and Cedric Diggory are chosen as Hogwarts Champions for the Tournament along with Fleur Delacour from Beauxbaton and Victor Krum from Durmstrang on Halloween.
